The “14th Five-Year Plan” National Eye Health Plan (2021-2025), issued by the National Health Commission, clearly states the goal of striving to achieve an annual coverage rate of over 90% for eye health and vision screening for children aged 0-6 by 2025.
The plan also points out the need to establish a children’s eye health service network, screen common eye diseases in children early and correct poor vision. The establishment of electronic files for the visual health of children and adolescents should be promoted to timely update healthy data on refractive development.
