A continuous winter rain has added some coldness to Suzhou. But in Moody Home for the Aged, the elderly received a warm service today. For the second consecutive year, Chen Xinjian, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and chairman of Suzhou Big Vision Co.
Ltd. focuses on the development and manufacture of ophthalmic disease analysis and diagnosis systems, and has been at the forefront of the world in ophthalmic image artificial intelligence analysis and diagnosis. Through the accumulation of more than 10,000 public service screenings, Big Vision has found that fundus disease has a very significant correlation with age, with a significant trend of increase in fundus disease between the ages of 40 and 70, and after the age of 70, basically more than 60% of people have fundus disease. The mission of Big Vision is to “detect every eye problem early and give the best treatment plan”. In the past few years, medical artificial intelligence has received a lot of attention from the society and the company has been developing rapidly. As the founder of the company, Chen Xinjian has been thinking about how to use the company’s products and technology to bring practical benefits to the public.
Last year’s eye health screening at the elderly home was well received by the elderly. This time, the screening was carried out with Big Vision’s newly released OCT and fundus color photography dual-modality ophthalmic artificial intelligence assisted diagnosis system MIAS, which can diagnose nearly 20 kinds of high incidence fundus diseases at one time, and the artificial intelligence automatically gives the assisted diagnosis results and quantitative disease analysis report, with an overall accuracy rate of over 96%. On-site staff conducted systematic fundus screening for the elderly in the home and made detailed records to facilitate future follow-up visits. For some of the elderly who needed further examination, it was recommended to go to the hospital for further diagnostic examination after the examination report was issued. Through the examination, the elderly had an accurate understanding of their own eye health condition and also learned a lot of matters that they need to pay attention to in order to protect their eye health on a daily basis.
This eye health screening in Mudu Town Elderly Home officially opened the prelude of Big Vision’s 2019 public welfare screening, and Big Vision will conduct more public welfare screenings in the future to contribute its share of efforts to raise the awareness of eye care and eye health for all people and popularize eye health knowledge.
