On July 1st, Big Vision Medical Technology and GAREA Health Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Suzhou. As the first province-wide remote diagnostic information project based on 5G for all primary healthcare institutions, it won first prize in the “5G Application Design Finals” at the World 5G Conference and the GSMA “Best Connected Human Mobile Innovation Award,” becoming a benchmark for the application of 5G technology in primary healthcare.
Eye health is an important component of national health. The training period of a professional ophthalmologist is very long. According to statistics, in 2020, the number of ophthalmologists in China was 44,800, which has increased compared to the “Thirteenth Five-Year” period, but there is still a large gap in the ratio of ophthalmologists per million population compared to developed countries. As China’s society continues to age, the incidence of eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration continues to rise.
