Cooperation and Mutual Benefit, Joining Hands in Advancement | Big Vision and GAREA Reach Long-term Strategic Cooperation

On July 1st, Big Vision Medical Technology and GAREA Health Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Suzhou. Wang Xiaodong, Senior Vice President and CTO of Jiangsu GAREA Health Technology Co., Ltd., and Shi Xiong, Deputy General Manager of Suzhou Big Vision Medical Technology Co., Ltd., represented both parties in the signing ceremony. Yang Haofang, Chairman of Jiangsu GAREA Health Technology Co., Ltd., and Chen Xinjian, Chairman of Suzhou Big Vision Medical Technology Co., Ltd., were present to witness the event.

The “Healthy China 2030” Planning Outline points out that “promoting the construction of a healthy China is an important foundation for comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society and achieving basic socialist modernization.” Currently, the contradiction between the overall insufficient supply of health services and the constantly growing demand in China remains prominent, and problems such as scarcity of resources in primary healthcare institutions and serious imbalances in medical resources are still widespread. Therefore, the “Healthy China 2030” Planning Outline requires that we adhere to a focus on the primary level, leverage technological innovation and informationization as leading and supporting roles, and construct an integrated medical and healthcare service system. The establishment of a strategic cooperation relationship between Big Vision Medical Technology and GAREA Health will help both parties achieve complementary advantages in product technology and market resources, and make a positive contribution to promoting the construction of a healthy China, especially in enhancing the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment service capabilities of primary healthcare institutions.

As a leading domestic digital basic medical technology enterprise, GAREA Health has successfully constructed integrated solutions for health tracking, chronic disease management, remote medical services, and other areas in the two major fields of primary-level tiered diagnosis and treatment and personal health management services. GAREA Health participated in the construction of the “5G Smart Healthcare Lights up Hainan Healthy Island” project, covering 18 hospitals, 340 township health centers, and 2,700 village clinics in all cities and counties throughout Hainan Province. By relying on advanced “5G + artificial intelligence” technology, the project effectively improved the diagnosis and treatment capabilities of primary healthcare institutions, enabling patients at the grassroots level to enjoy high-quality medical resources right at their doorstep. As the first province-wide remote diagnostic information project based on 5G for all primary healthcare institutions, it won first prize in the “5G Application Design Finals” at the World 5G Conference and the GSMA “Best Connected Human Mobile Innovation Award,” becoming a benchmark for the application of 5G technology in primary healthcare.

Eye health is an important component of national health. The training period of a professional ophthalmologist is very long. According to statistics, in 2020, the number of ophthalmologists in China was 44,800, which has increased compared to the “Thirteenth Five-Year” period, but there is still a large gap in the ratio of ophthalmologists per million population compared to developed countries. As China’s society continues to age, the incidence of eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration continues to rise. As a leader in the domestic ophthalmic artificial intelligence field, Big Vision focuses on the research and development and application of artificial intelligence analysis and auxiliary diagnosis software and hardware systems for ophthalmic diseases. They are committed to using AI to empower ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment and provide effective ways to solve the problem of insufficient primary ophthalmic medical resources.

Since the launch of the industry’s first fully automatic artificial intelligence OCT BV1000, Big Vision’s medical technology products have continued to accelerate their landing applications. In 2022, they are expected to provide ophthalmic OCT AI services for more than 100,000 people. It is the common concern and love for the health of the grassroots people that brought together GAREA Health Technology and Big Vision Medical Technology, and achieve long-term strategic cooperation to advance together.

After signing the contract, both parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of primary eye care. Big Vision Medical will serve as a professional supplier of ophthalmic products for GAREA Health’s primary mobile medical solutions and participate fully in the development of GAREA Health’s smart medical system at the grassroots level. Both parties rely on emerging technologies such as 5G and AI intelligence to jointly promote the capacity building of primary medical and health services, improve the health level of grassroots people including eye health, and work together to provide a solid guarantee for the construction of “Healthy China” and build a bright new future.
