Recently, the Jiangsu Province Intellectual Property Office announced the list of candidates for the first Jiangsu Patent Award. Big Vision Medical Technology Co., Ltd. in Suzhou won the first Jiangsu Patent Outstanding Award with the technology of “Classification Method of Retina OCT Images Based on 3D Convolutional Neural Network”, making it one of only four winners in the high-tech zone.

According to the “Jiangsu Patent Award Evaluation Method”, the Jiangsu Patent Award is awarded by the provincial government with a certificate and a monetary reward. The patentee who wins the Jiangsu Patent Outstanding Award will receive a reward of 100,000 yuan for each patent.

Big Vision Medical Technology’s award-winning patent “Classification Method of Retina OCT Images Based on 3D Convolutional Neural Network” has made a breakthrough improvement in the existing technology of retina image classification, which solves the technical problems of using traditional 2D convolutional neural networks for image classification that cannot utilize the 3D spatial information of the image and ignores the impact of intermediate layer supervision on model classification performance. Moreover, the patent integrates related information by combining the feature fusion of the main network and the branch network, and multi-scale lesion features, which greatly improves the accuracy of OCT image classification and promotes the development of retina image classification technology.
